Making Banking Easy -
UX Design Case Study
In today’s digital landscape, banking apps need to be intuitive, efficient, and engaging. This case study explores the design process for a banking app that enables users to swipe between their cards, categorize their payments, and conduct seamless transfers and receipts of money. This project serves as practice, and my goal was to create a frictionless financial management experience while maintaining security and ease of use.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Many banking apps suffer from cluttered interfaces, complex navigation, and a lack of personalization. Users often struggle to find transactions, categorize spending, and manage multiple bank cards efficiently.
How can we streamline these processes while enhancing user engagement?
RESEARCH
I analyzed competitor apps to identify pain points. Key insights included:

-
Users desire a fluid way to switch between multiple debit/credit cards.
-
Categorization of transactions is important for budgeting and tracking expenses.
-
The process of sending and receiving money should be quick and hassle-free.
DESIGN GOALS
Seamless Card Navigation: Implement a swipe-based UI to navigate between multiple cards.
Smart Payment Categorization: Automatically classify expenses and allow users to manually adjust categories.
Effortless Money Transfers: Enable quick and secure transactions with an intuitive flow.
DESIGN PROCESS
We started with low-fidelity wireframes to visualize the core functionalities:
\
A home screen with a swipeable card interface.

A transaction history screen with smart categorization.

A transfer screen with simple input fields for quick transactions.

FINAL PROTOTYPE

Swipeable Card Interface: Users can swipe left or right to toggle between their linked cards.
A streamlined money transfer process with quick-access shortcuts, and real-time confirmation.
Categorized Transactions: Payments are auto-categorized into predefined groups (e.g., Groceries, Transport, Entertainment) with an option for manual editing.
